Occupational Health & Safety

As part of Gel Group’s continued commitment to standards of service and our responsibility to ensure that Employees and Contractors are not put at risk or exposed to hazards in the workplace, Gel Group has procedures in place which comply with The Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984.

Section 19 of The Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 requires every employer to ensure, so far as is practicable, that while workers are at work they are not exposed to hazards and that they are provided with a safe workplace and safe systems of work.

In fulfilling our obligations under the Act, Gel Group is required to perform a Workplace Pre-placement Inspection of our Client’s workplace, prior to commencement of the Contract Assignment, to enable placement of Contractors without the risk of injury in the work environment. These inspections may not be necessary where Clients can demonstrate they have a WorkSafe plan in place which complies with Australian Standard 4801 or equivalent.

In addition to the Workplace Inspection it will be necessary for all Contractors to be given a OSH induction by the Client at the commencing of a contract assignment.

Attached for your information are the relevant forms in relation to the Workplace Inspection and a sample form of OSH Induction which Clients can use for Contractors induction as necessary.

We trust you will understand that we all have an obligation to Health & Safety in the workplace and that we are required to comply with the Act.
